Historical note

The Dean’s Office for International Students  was created at Omsk State Medical University only in July 2017. However, work with foreign citizens and international activities at our university have a long and deep history. It started back in the 30s. Last century the students from Mongolian People's Republic began studies at Omsk Medical Institute named after M.I. Kalinin (former name of OSMU). One of the Mongolian graduates of the Omsk Medical Institute became a famous scientist. Academician Shagdarsuren was awarded several orders, including the Order of Suche-Bator, the highest order of Mongolia.

The training of foreign students continued in the 1990s, after the collapse of the Soviet Union. In 1992, students from India, Guinea, Sudan, and other countries studied at Omsk Medical University.
