Medical Volunteers: Online Lectures on World No Smoking Day

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Medical Volunteers not only provide their help to regional healthcare but also do not forget the importance of promoting a healthy lifestyle. Together with the Omsk Center for Prevention, volunteers arranged a series of online lectures aimed at raising public awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco smoking.

The event was held in the framework of World No Smoking Day, which is celebrated globally on the third Thursday of November. The Day was established by the American Cancer Society in 1977, aimed at reducing the spread of smoking addiction, attracting the population and doctors of all specialties to fight together against tobacco smoking.

While giving online lectures, Medical Volunteers told about the ruinous consequences of smoking, paid a special attention to a course of the COVID-19 infection in heavy smokers, and replied on numerous questions.
