Academic Conference of Cardiologists and Therapeutists of Siberia

 
On June 6-7, 2019 the First Academic Conference of Cardiologists and Therapeutists of Siberia was held at Omsk State Medical University. Leading specialists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, and Krasnoyarsk participated in it. They discussed the issues of heart diseases prevention. This problem is currently topical, as about 60% of the Russian population suffer from cardiovascular diseases.
Prof. Andrey PISKLAKOV, Vice-Rector for Research, Head of the Pediatric Surgery Department, comments, “One of the main tasks of doctors and scientists is to reduce disability and mortality from cardiovascular diseases. According to the World Health Organization, more than 18 million people all over the world die from this disease. I hope during this conference our doctors will get a line on new methods of diagnostics and prevention of this pathology.”
Prof. Mekhman Niyazi Ogly MAMEDOV, Head of the Laboratory of Integrated Prevention of Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases in National Medical Research Center for Preventive Medicine, noted the significance of the conference and its strong role for the whole medical community, “We have always been thinking of connecting with doctors and scientists from Siberia regions. So, we have decided to organize such event for the love of science and for our patients’ sake.”
Within the conference many reports of current interest were presented: cardiovascular diseases prevention, case management, heart attack, cardiac angina.
