Obstetricians and Gynecologists Discussed Topical Issues of Women’s Reproductive Health

 
On September 24, Online Inter-Regional Conference «NOTA BENE!» was held with the participation of leading experts in diagnostics, treatment, and management in obstetrics and gynecology. Speakers from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, and Omsk took part in the Conference. More than 200 specialists from different cities, including obstetricians, gynecologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and emergency doctors attended the event to discuss the state-of-the –art ways to maintain women’s reproductive health.
 
The conference began with welcome speeches of Prof. Irina V. SAVELIEVA, MD, PhD, Head of the Department Obstetrics and Gynecology №1, Chief External Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology, OSMU, and Prof. Galina B. DIKKE, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology including Reproductive Medicine Course, the Academy of Medical Education (Saint Petersburg). The conference covered not only medical but also legal aspects in the sphere of obstetrics and gynecology, demonstrating the relevance of the meeting and the thematic diversity of the presentations.
 
Prof. Galina B. DIKKE dedicated her report to the problems of diagnosis and treatment for bacterial vaginitis, which is a very topical issue due to its high prevalence rates among the diseases of a lower urinary tract, and focused on the issues for the optimal choice of hormonal contraceptives.
 
Prof. Irina V. SAVELIEVA discussed medical and legal issues of the guidelines on normal pregnancy management and also covered the topic in respect to reproductive health of patients in the high-risk group, algorithms of gestagens use in pregnancy, and measures to keep pregnancy safe and healthy.
 
Participants expressed their opinions on many subjects including empirical treatment of vaginitis, vulvar diseases, and burnout syndrome among doctors. At the end of the Conference speakers had a chance to participate in an interactive workshop.
