On December 11, 2020, the First Republican Students’ Surgical e-Olympiad took place at the Lugansk State Medical University. The event attracted 13 teams from Russia, the Lugansk People’s Republic, and the Donetsk People’s Republic.
OSMU team was represented by Svetlana GARTUNG, Marina BUN, Eugeniy PASHIN, Kirill MEMUS, Egor FROLOV, students of the Faculty of General Medicine, who have been trained by Tatiana P. KRAMYKH, Head of the Department of Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery, and Lyubov O. BARSKAYA, Assistant Professor of the Department of Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery.
Despite the difficulties associated with the online-format of the Olympiad, the students were able to demonstrate their high surgical skills, for example, knot tying, and in-depth theoretical knowledge of traumatology, topographic anatomy, and operative surgery, which was proved in the case studies competition. Based on the results of the competitions, OSMU team was awarded the 3rd prize!
