On February 16, 2019 the Annual Conference “World Cancer Day” was held at OSMU College. General practitioners, oncologists, pediatricians, and nephrologists took part in it. Maria LIVZAN, OSMU Rector, made the opening speech.
During the conference guests from Moscow gave their reports: Prof. Leonid LAZEBNIK, the Chairman of the Scientific Society of Gastroenterologists in Russia, taught the Master Class “Chronic Gastritis as Precancer: Medical Myths and Evidence-Based Medicine”. Prof. Ekaterina IVANOVA, the Chief Scientist of the Research Laboratory for Surgical Gastroenterology and Endoscopy in RNRMU, taught the Master Class “Serrations in Large Intestine: Pathoanatomical Fantasy or Clinical Reality”.
Experts have also discussed early diagnostics of cancer and pre-cancerous condition in gastroenterology and the necessity to put cancer screening programmes into clinical practice to detect premalignancy.
