Foreign students have the possibility to receive State Scholarship for higher education or preparatory courses in Russia. The scholarship is provided by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, according to the results of the competition among foreign candidates.
The competition is organized by ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO (Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation), The network of the ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO houses is distributed all over the World, an exact list of countries could be found here. In case your country is not in the list, please contact the nearest Russian Consulate in your country for information on the competition for the State Scholarship.
The competition opens each year in February. Please, track the competition announcement at the official website of ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO.
The selection of foreign candidates is carried via the website EDUCATION IN RUSSIA.
How to apply:
1. Register by completing the online questionnaire and submitting your request;
2. Select the higher education institution, in which you would like to study (you can select up to 6 in priority order), your future specialty and the training program;
3. Prepare the necessary documents;
4. Pass the competitive selection;
5. Receive an invitation and get a student visa.
Note! State Scholarship exempts foreign students from tuition fees during the full period of the educational program and gives the right to receive maintenance allowance and priority in receiving the place in the dormitory. State Scholarships are intended only for educatonal programs provided in Russian language. Candidates who do not speak Russian can apply for the preparatory course or Summer/Winter Schools (the above-mentioned conditions apply also for short programs).
