The International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA), founded in 1951, is one of the largest and oldest student organizations in the world. It represents and unites over 1.3 million students from 123 countries worldwide. A unique feature of this community is that all  organizational work is carried out by students. Medical students gain valuable professional experience through research and professional exchanges, as well as at medical schools, conventions, and conferences around the world.

The National Union of Medical Students (НССМ - Национальный Союз Студентов Медицины) has existed in Russia since 1989. Currently, 41 medical universities participate in the program, or, in IFMSA parlance, have a local committee. Local committees are represented by Russian medical universities, where a local team of active students works to develop the community.
 
The International Association of Dental Students (IADS) was founded in 1951 in Copenhagen to serve the educational needs of dental students throughout the world. Representing the interests of more than 200,000 dental students in around 60 countries worldwide and having its central office at the FDI World Dental Federation headquarters in Geneva.The association strives for educational and scientific excellence throughout the international projects and initiatives it manages.
