Introduction

The International Summer School 2019 “The Challenges of Functional Nutrition in the XXI Century: a CrossDisciplinary AgroMedical Approach” will be held at the Omsk State Agrarian University in collaboration with the Omsk State Medical University from July 14th to July 20th, 2019.
 
The Objectives of the School
 
The aim of the Summer School is to provide students from both agrarian and medical universities with state-of-art, crossdisciplinary knowledge in the field of functional nutrition. Crossdisciplinarity can have a positive impact on research by combining the expertise of one field with another, becoming a unique stimulus for the further development of research. Students of agrarian universities will have the unique chance to learn the positive effects of functional products on the human body directly from high qualified specialists in the field of medicine, whereas medical students will learn more about organic cultivation and ecoproducts for healthy, functional nutrition. The summer school will also include practical experience and excursions to
local farms where organic products are cultivated, familiarization with the organic industry, participation in a cooking master-class, as well as a rich cultural programme.
