The alphabetical catalog includes bibliographic descriptions of books, dissertations, abstracts of dissertations, and continuing publications that are stored in the library’s collections.

The systematic catalog reflects literature on the natural and socio-economic sciences based on the content in various branches of knowledge, dividing each branch into corresponding sections and subsections

The subject catalog contains information about literature on medicine and related sciences and is designed to search for information on a specific topic using MeSH (Medical Subject Heading)

The electronic catalog contains more than 575,000 records and includes bibliographic descriptions of books, dissertations, abstracts, and articles from medical journals.

An alphabetical card index of magazines and newspapers introduces information about periodicals stored in the OSMU library

Thematic card indexes are based on an analytical list of articles from periodicals and ongoing publications, collections and are maintained in departments serving readers.

The card file of new acquisitions reflects the literature received by the library and is updated quarterly.

The reference and legal system “ConsultantPlus: TechnologyPROF” is updated weekly, includes regulatory documents, books, periodicals and consists of sections:

 

Medicine - created by Russian Institute for Scientific and Technical Information of RAS, annotations in Russian are presented for dissertations, patents, articles from Russian and foreign journals and collections. Published quarterly.

 

Russian medicine (1988-1998) - contains information about scientific medical literature stored in the collections of the Central Scientific Medical Library (Moscow), including articles from journals and collections, Russian and foreign books, dissertations, abstracts of dissertations , deposited manuscripts, unpublished translations.

 

WHO Medicines Bookshelf is a full-text database of World Health Organization publications on the use of essential medicines.

 

Databases of the EBSCO Publishing company on CD - abstract and full-text information on the natural and socio-economic sciences:

 

Electronic Library of the Omsk State Medical University includes the digital copies of manuals, guides, tutorials, monographs, dissertations, and publications, which are necessary for gaining deep knowledge in each discipline studied at University.

 

Online University Library provides an access to educational and scientific literature from the Russian publishing houses, including textbooks, teaching guides, monographs, periodicals, reference books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, video and audio materials, and others. The catalogue of publications is systematically updated.

Books in English" includes textbooks and guides translated into English, recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for the medical and pharmaceutical students, residents and PhD students, and for the specialists in the sphere of medicine and pharmacy.

 

Scientific Electronic Library (eLIBRARY.RU) is the largest Russian information and analytical portal in the field of science, technology, medicine and education, containing abstracts and full texts of more than 38 million scientific publications and patents, including electronic versions of more than 5 600 Russian scientific journals, where over 4 500 journals have an open access.

 

eBook Collections (i.e.2021-2023 eBook collections) published by Springer Nature are full-text thematic collections of e-books in English.

Elsevier provides an access to the full-text ScienceDirect database on the Sciverse ScienceDirect platform, which is the unrivaled Internet resource for scientific, technical and medical information. Designed to meet the multi-subject information discovery needs of scientific, educational, commercial and government organizations, ScienceDirect provides comprehensive coverage of literature from all fields of science, providing an access to over 4 000 journals and 38 000 books published by prestigious scientific societies.

PubMed is a free search engine for biomedical research founded in 1997. PubMed includes Medline, the largest bibliographic database of medical science articles created by the US National Library of Medicine. Covers about 75% of the world's medical publications.

 

8. The MSD Manuals: https://www.msdmanuals.com/professional.

The Manual has been published by MSD since 1899 and is widely known throughout the world as the MSD Manuals. The MSD Manuals are medical references, that cover a wide range of medical topics, including disorders, tests, diagnosis, and drugs. The directory contains information about 2000 diseases and pathological conditions, their etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment.
