A delegation from Khatlon State Medical University (Republic of Tajikistan) has successfully completed its working visit to OSMU. As part of the academic program, Assoc. Prof. Bakhtiyor S. PIROV, MD, PhD (in Medicine), Head of the Department of Surgical Disciplines, and Assoc. Prof. Isodukht B. USMON, MD, PhD (in Medicine), Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenerology, delivered lectures for OSMU students. The lectures were held at the clinical training facilities of the N.S. Makokha Surgery Department (Advanced Level) and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology №1.
During their visit, the guests met with Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Rector of OSMU. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Olga V. KORPACHEVA, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, and Assoc. Prof. Andrey S. KOLCHIN, MD, PhD (in Medicine), Vice-Rector for Postgraduate Education and Digital Transformation. The parties discussed future interuniversity cooperation in the field of advanced academic training and the development of joint programs for highly qualified personnel.
The delegation also visited the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Reproductive Health for Children and Adolescents, and the Department of Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology, where they held productive discussions with the department heads: Prof. Andrey V. PISKLAKOV, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine) and Assoc. Prof. Yuriy A. NOVIKOV, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine). Together, they explored potential avenues for collaborative research and educational initiatives.
The visit extended beyond formal meetings. The International Affairs Department organized an engaging cultural program, giving the guests from KSMU their first-ever experience of Siberia. The delegation enjoyed excursions to local museums, theaters, concerts, and historical sites, returning home with warm and lasting impressions, not only of Omsk’s cultural richness but also of the heartfelt hospitality extended by the OSMU community.
The guests expressed their sincere gratitude to everyone who made their visit enriching, memorable, and truly meaningful.
