The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial is held on the third Sunday of May every year, and this year it fell on May 16. In the framework of this day, Medical Volunteers took part in the «Remember. Know. Support» Campaign, organized by the Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases and the youth social organization «Omsk Youth». Visitors of Sovetsky Park had the opportunity to watch creative performances, undergo rapid HIV testing, and get specialists’ advice.
Along with that, on the threshold of the World Hypertension, Day Medical Volunteers of OSMU and specialists of the Regional Center for Public Health and Preventive Medicine took part in the #120/80 Flash mob. On the special health platform, they have told about how to correctly measure blood pressure using a tonometer, hypertension complications, and how to prevent high blood pressure.
Medical Volunteers have also assigned their second partnership agreement, this time with Omsk Hospital №2, to provide assistance on a regular basis. Moreover, they have established another health office at the Omsk State Motor Transport College, which will allow College students with the support of Medical Volunteers to carry out regular activities for health promotion and disease prevention.
