Three hundred medical students and residents help nurses and doctors in Omsk Hospitals due to the increase of the COVID-19 and respiratory infection cases.
One of them is Gennady SIDOROV, a first-year resident of the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Department, who graduated from both Medical College and Medical University. Now Gennady is working as a junior doctor in the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Department of the Omsk Hospital №4, which is now reorganized into COVID-19 Center. «Working as a doctor during the residency is a good experience, which gives the possibility to study a lot and to immerse into the profession» – said Gennady SIDOROV.
At the moment, there is a shortage of anesthesiologists and emergency doctors in COVID-19 Centers, and the wards are overcrowded. That is why first-year residents of OSMU are working in the Omsk Hospitals in the «red zones» with COVID-19 patients.
