Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Fort – 2022

On May 10-11, the on-site stage of the Interregional Competition «Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Fort – 2022» for 5^th and 6^th-year medical students and anesthesiology and intensive care residents was held.

The Competition took place in the framework of IV National Congress with international participation «Burning issues in critical care medicine». It was aimed at increasing the preparedness of the participants to provide assistance to patients in various situations both working in a team and on their own. The objectives of the Competition also included increasing motivation and psychological readiness to work in the specialty; checking the theoretical knowledge in anesthesiology and intensive care; improvement of required individual skills; assessment of the ability to use available resources in various situations; development of teamwork skills.

The Competition was held in two stages. The first one called «Virtual patient in ICU» was held on-line and included solving clinical cases. Based on the results of this stage, the winning teams were invited to take part in the on-site competition, which was held in the Center for Innovative and Educational Technologies of the First Pavlov State Medical University of St. Petersburg and included thematic game and intellectual video game-quest.

 

Within the residents’ team, OSMU team «Siberian Help 2» became the winner. OSMU was represented by Gennady SIDOROV (captain of the team) and Alexey SOKOLOV, 2^nd–year residents of the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (Postgraduate Course) Department, and Viktoria BARANOVA and Kirill STOGNIEV, 1^st-year residents of the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (Postgraduate Course) Department, who had been trained by Alexey V. KLEMENTIEV, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (Postgraduate Course) Department.
