Burning Issues in Infectious Diseases and Tuberculosis
On September 29, the regional scientific conference «Burning Issues in Infectious Diseases and Tuberculosis» took place at the Clinical TB Hospital. It was organized by OSMU, Ministry of Public Health of the Omsk Region, Omsk branch of the Association of TB Specialists of Russia, Clinical TB Hospital, D.M. Dalmatov Infectious Diseases Hospital №1, Omsk branch of the Regional Society of Infectious Disease Specialists of Russia, and Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases of the Omsk Region.
The welcoming speeches were delivered by Prof. Anna V. MORDYK, MD, PhD, Head of the Phthisiology, Pulmonology and Infectious Diseases Department of OSMU, and Andrey N. NAVROTSKIY, MD, PhD, Chief External Specialist in Infectious Diseases of the Omsk Region, Deputy Chief Physician for medical affairs of .M. Dalmatov Infectious Diseases Hospital №1.
 
The scientific part of the conference was opened by Svetlana N. RUDNEVA, Deputy Chief Physician of the Clinical TB Hospital, Chief External TB Specialist of the Omsk Region. She presented the report «The epidemiological situation of tuberculosis and HIV-associated tuberculosis in the Russian Federation, the Siberian Federal District and the Omsk Region: main development trends, measures aimed at maintaining epidemiological well-being in the region»/ She introduced the audience to the main trends in the development of the epidemic situation in tuberculosis and HIV-associated tuberculosis in Russia and the Omsk Region.
 
Practicing physicians presented interested clinical cases, which made it possible to unite theoretical and practical knowledge.
 
Yuriy T. IGNATIEV, MD, PhD, Prof. of the Radiodiagnostics Department of OSMU, gave a lecture on the radiodiagnostics of interstitial lung diseases. A part of his report was dedicated to the demonstration of clinical cases of interstitial diseases and disseminated tuberculosis, including those in patients with HIV infection, an assessment of the X-ray semiotics of interstitial lung diseases of different nature.
 
Oksana A. PASECHNIK, MD, PhD, Head of the Public Health and Healthcare Management Department, told about the trends in the incidence and changes in the properties of the drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
 
Olga G. IVANOVA, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. Of the Phthisiology, Pulmonology and Infectious Diseases Department dedicated her report to the clinical structure and principles of diagnosis and differential diagnosis of HIV-associated diseases.
 
Prof. Anna V. MORDYK, MD, PhD, Head of the Phthisiology, Pulmonology and Infectious Diseases Department, gave a lecture on the basic principles of detecting tuberculosis in high risk groups for tuberculosis and the regulations and standards for specialists working with these patients. She illustrated the lecture with clinical cases of timely and untimely detected tuberculosis in high risk patients. Two scientific reports by Anna V. MORDIK were dedicated to the correction of cognitive disorders in patients with tuberculosis and to the new opportunities for antiviral therapy and rehabilitation of patients after COVID-19 infection.
 
Both theoretical and practical reports, a high concentration of the relevant information, demonstration and discussion of clinical cases are important factors for the successful treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of infectious pathologies and tuberculosis. Scientists and practicing physicians of the Omsk Region are doing a lot to diagnose and treat infectious diseases timely.
