Burning Issues of Medical Rehabilitation in Neurology, Traumatology, and Internal Diseases

The Interregional Scientific Conference “Burning Issues of Medical Rehabilitation in Neurology, Traumatology, and Internal Diseases”, organized by OSMU Department of Medical Rehabilitation, including Postgraduate Training Courses, traditionally took place at the Omsk Regional Clinical Hospital.
 
The Conference was dedicated to general issues of organizing medical rehabilitation and specific issues of managing patients with different conditions. Scientists and doctors from St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Omsk discussed the legal and regulatory framework of the rehabilitation process, modern achievements and high-tech methods of restoring health and working capacity and preventing disability used at various stages in patients with diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, central nervous system, internal diseases, as well as in combatants who have undergone limb amputation and post-traumatic stress disorder. 
 
The Conference was attended by not only doctors of various specialties, but also medical psychologists, specialists in physical rehabilitation and occupational therapy, who are integral participants in the multidisciplinary rehabilitation process.
 
OSMU Department of Medical Rehabilitation, including Postgraduate Training Courses, was presented by its’ Head, Prof. Vadim A. AKHMEDOV, MD, PhD, who told about the influence of meteorological factors on heart rate variability, the risk of developing hypertensive emergencies, arthralgia, asthenic reactions that complicate the treatment and rehabilitation process, methods of preventing these conditions; and Prof. Asst. Dmitriy E. BATUSHENKO, MD, PhD, who presented the report “Features of hockey injuries in children”. Natalia V. BOSENKO, specialist in the occupational therapy of the Omsk Regional Clinical Hospital, dedicated her lecture to her specialty, which restores patients’ daily activity skills and returns their ability to live a full life.
 
Lecturers from other departments of our university were also invited to present their reports.
Elina A. MELNIK, MD, PhD, Prof. Asst. of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, including Postgraduate Training Courses, elaborated upon the topic of key targets and strategies for personalized treatment of urinary incontinence after stroke.
 
Olga Yu. GROGOLEVA, PhD in Psychology, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, including Postgraduate Training Courses, presented the report ”Psychological and psychiatric assessment of combatants as a new direction in the practice of preparing judicial opinions”.
