Child’s Health - Nation’s Health: OSMU Hosts Interregional Conference on Pediatrics

In collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region, OSMU held the Interregional Scientific Conference «Child’s Health - Nation’s Health: From the First Steps of Life». The event brought together specialists and residents to discuss current challenges and modern approaches in pediatrics, as well as the organization of pediatric healthcare services.

The Conference featured over fifteen expert presentations covering a wide range of pediatric concerns. Topics included the management of acute respiratory infections in children, clinical strategies for allergic rhinitis, ENT pathologies during seasonal outbreaks, immunological aspects of viral respiratory infections in pediatric patients, pediatric pulmonary hypertension, neonatal pneumonia trends, hyperuricemia in children, and other pressing issues that pediatricians face in daily practice, along with practical solutions for their resolution.

- All the topics presented at the Conference are highly relevant for pediatricians in the Omsk Region. The new knowledge gained during our scientific forum will undoubtedly be applied in everyday clinical practice. It is essential for every pediatrician to clearly recognize which conditions in a young patient require an immediate referral to a specialized doctor, - noted Prof. Elena B. PAVLINOVA, MD, Dr Si (in Medicine), Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at OSMU, Head of the Department of Pediatrics (Advanced Level), including Postgraduate Training Courses.

Throughout the event, participants actively discussed the latest advancements in pediatrics and newly issued clinical guidelines from the past year. These included scientific developments not only from all pediatric departments of OSMU but also from leading institutions in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, and Novosibirsk. Contributions from the Departments of Phthisiology, Pulmonology and Infectious Diseases, and Pediatric Infectious Diseases at OSMU further enriched the discourse. The exchange of expertise with practicing healthcare professionals significantly enhanced the qualification level of all attending physicians.

Prof. PAVLINOVA also emphasized the value of active participation by clinical residents, as it contributes meaningfully to expanding their theoretical knowledge and practical skillset.
