Polina KAZACHUK and Inna NALBANDYAN, 4th year students of OSMU Faculty of Dentistry, took first place at the 18th International Student Scientific Conference "Student Scientific Forum-2026," demonstrating a high level of preparation and presenting relevant research in the field of dentistry.
Participation in scientific events is a crucial element of the modern educational environment at a medical university and is considered an effective tool for developing professional competencies. Students' involvement in scientific research contributes to the development of clinical and critical thinking, evidence-based medicine skills, the ability to work with scientific information, analyzing and interpreting big data sets. Furthermore, Conference activities facilitate students' socialization within the professional community. Students master academic ethics, develop a culture of communication, and learn to build constructive dialogue with colleagues and experts, which directly impacts their general cultural and interpersonal competencies.
The victory of our students is convincing evidence of their high motivation for learning, their developed research culture, and their readiness for professional work. Their success reflects the effectiveness of the educational process and confirms the importance of integrating science and practice in the training of future specialists. We congratulate Polina and Inna, as well as their supervisor, Assoc. Prof. Irina M. VOLOSHINA, DMD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Professor of the Preventive Dentistry Department, on their victory and wish them continued success in their academic and professional endeavors!
