On April 25-27, 2024, the 30th National Conference «Burning issues of pediatric surgery, anesthesiology and intensive care» took place in Samara. This Conference was first held in 1957, and since 1959 it was held annually in different cities of the USSR. This Conference is already the 63rd conference of this type. This year, students from 57 universities from 7 countries (46 cities) took part in it. In just three days, 249 reports were presented in various sections.
The Department of Pediatric Surgery and Reproductive Health for Children and Adolescents was represented by Alina KOSTUCHENKO; 1st-year resident of the Department, Alina GARMANOVA, 4th-year student of the Faculty of Pediatrics, head of the Students’ Scientific Society of the Department; Elizaveta PUSTOVETSKAYA, 6th-year student of the Faculty of Pediatrics; Vladlen ZHOROV, 6th-year student of the Faculty of Pediatrics; Svetlana KARASKO, 5th-year student of the Faculty of Pediatrics. Prof. Andrey V. PISKLAKOV, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Reproductive Health for Children and Adolescents, headed the delegation.
The jury of each section includes 5 students from different universities and 3 teachers - the most qualified specialists in the discussed field of pediatric surgery. All this ensures not only the high demands on the scientific level of reports, but also the unbiased assessment.
Despite the fact that most of our students participated in such a representative forum for the first time, they all performed very well. According to the results of the Conference, the works of Alina GARMANOVA «Effectiveness of the ultrasonic sanitation of the abdominal cavity in peritonitis» and Elizaveta PUSTOVETSKAYA «Features of clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of uterine torsion in childhood» were awarded the 1st degree diplomas in the sections «Abdominal surgery 1 and 2», respectively.
In the team rating, the Students’ Scientific Society of the Department has been awarded the 1st degree diploma for the fifteenth year in a row.
The team of our university expresses gratitude to the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Reproductive Health for Children and Adolescents for the acquired knowledge, the opportunity to conduct scientific work, and detailed training. In particular, they express gratitude to their academic supervisors and Students’ Scientific Society’s supervisors: Andrey V. PISKLAKOV, Vyacheslav I. PONOMAREV, Natalia I. PAVLENKO, Ksenia A.
