At the beginning of April, the International Olympiad of Medical Universities was held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent. The event attracted more than 200 people from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, India, and Russia. The Omsk School of Dentists prepared a team that took part in all the competitions of the «Dentistry» section.
OSMU team represented our university in the following competitions:
Viktoria KAMINSKAYA, 5th-year student, team captain – Preventive Dentistry
Maksim SHEKHNET, 4th-year student - Orthopedic Dentistry
Anna MALTSEVA, 5th-year student – Pediatric Dentistry
Kristina MAYER, 5th-year student - Maxillofacial Surgery
Andzhela KOCHERGA, 5th-year student – Orthodontics
The Olympiad included theoretical and practical stages, which touched upon the features of anatomy, materials science, modern methods of diagnosis and treatment, and controversial aspects of medicine.
OSMU team was awarded the 1st place Diploma in the Preventive Dentistry Competition, the 1st place Diploma in the Orthopedic Dentistry Competition, the 2nd place Diploma in the Pediatric Dentistry Competition, and the 1st place Diploma in the «Best representation of the university» Competition.
As part of the stay at the Tashkent State Institute of Dentistry, Irina M. VOLOSHINA, DDM, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Preventive Dentistry Department of OSMU, read a course of lectures and held practical classes for students of the Faculty of Dentistry.
