On 29-30 June, People’s Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) hosted the National Student Olympiad on Digital Orthopedic Dentistry and Manual Skills, devoted to the 25th Anniversary of Student Dentistry Olympiads. Prof. Andrey A. STAFEEV, DMD, PhD, Head of the OSMU Department of Orthopedic Dentistry, co-hosted the event and became the Jury member.
OSMU was represented by 4th-year students: Maxim SHENKNEKHT and Alina-Dolores SHENKNEKHT. The team was trained by Prof. Andrey A. STAFEEV, DMD, PhD, Prof. Asst. Alexander V. KNIZHUK, DMD, Prof. Asst. Sergey I. SOLOVIEV, DMD, Prof. Asst. Rustam Sh. KASENOV, DMD, Prof. Asst. Daria B. TIMOKHINA. The team was supported by the Scientific Society for Young Scientists and Students and Prof. Assoc. Tatiana P. KHRAMYKH, MD, PhD.
3rd-year students and 4th-year students from 26 leading Universities, including Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, and Perm. Leading Russian dentists, including S. I. GAZHVA, Head of the Dentistry Department at Privolzhsky Research Medical University, and N. B. ASTASHINA, Head of the Dentistry Department at Perm State Medical University, presented their teams.
On the first day of the Olympiad, participants tested their manual skills in various competitions. Alina-Dolores SHENKNEKHT showed the best results in performing the orthopedic stage preparation and taking dental impressions. Winners of the competition were awarded Diplomas and gifts from the «WH-Taifun» company.
The second day was marked by the competition in digital dentistry. In the framework of the event, Prof. STAFEEV gave a master class for participants and staff of the RUDN Department of Orthopedic Dentistry.
The OSMU team won in the gnathology category, and became the absolute winner of the Olympiad! According to the results, the winners were awarded Diplomas and memorable gifts.
