Dear colleagues!
We cordially congratulate you on your professional holiday – World Surgery Day! On Medical Worker Day, we congratulate each other on choosing such a responsible and compassionate profession. But we have a special day to honor surgeons as this specialty is complicated and even heroic; it is always the perfection of medical skill!
For its long history, our University has preserved the continuity of generations in the best traditions of advanced Russian surgery, and we may be proud of both scientific works and practicing specialists who have saved the lives and health of thousands of patients.
Dear surgeons! The results of your work had a significant impact on the development of modern medicine; you received recognition from your colleagues and trained young specialists who are now in demand in different fields of healthcare.
I want to address those students who want to become surgeons: it is a significant, responsible, and honorable choice. But the components of the successful profession of a surgeon also include daily work, a high concentration of knowledge, the ability to apply knowledge in clinical practice, great courage, and emotional sensitivity! Healing the sick and helping the suffering is work that only true professionals – hardworking, responsible, and merciful people – can handle.
I wish you all good health, strength, patience, and inspiration in your noble profession!
Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, Rector of OSMU
