We congratulate Maria SAFRONOVA, 5th-year student of the Dentistry Faculty, and Prosthodontics Department of OSMU on the victory in the National Scientific Research Competition.
On April 2, 2026, the regional stage of the "SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN PROSTHODONTICS AMONG STUDENTS FROM RUSSIAN AND CIS UNIVERSITIES" Competition was held at the Department of Prosthodontics and General Dentistry at the Ural State Medical University. First- to fifth-year dental students from medical universities of Siberia, Ural, and the Republic of Uzbekistan, participated in the competition, discussing current issues in prosthodontics.
Thirteen student teams from universities of Perm, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Barnaul, and the Tashkent Medical Institute presented their reports. The jury included leading specialists in the field of prosthodontics from the participating cities. The Chairperson of the jury was Assoc. Prof. M.S. MIRZOEVA, DMD, PhD (in Medicine), Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Prosthodontics and General Dentistry of the Ural State Medical University. The jury members included professors and heads of the prosthodontics departments of the participating universities, among them was Prof. Andrey A. STAFEEV, DMD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Head of the OSMU Department of Prosthodontics.
The students presented the results of their research on modern aspects of prosthodontics. By unanimous decision of the judges, Maria SAFRONOVA, 5th-year student of the OSMU Dentistry Faculty, with her paper “Characteristics of Chewing Pressure Perception during Functional Occlusion in Individuals with Dental Defects during Dental Implant-Based Prosthetics” was recognized as the winner of the Ural-Siberian stage of the annual student research competition in prosthodontics. We congratulate Maria and her supervisors, Prof. Andrey A. STAFEEV, DMD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Head of the Prosthodontics Department, and Alexander V. KHIZHUK, DMD, Prof. Asst. of the Prosthodontics Department, on their confident victory.
The winners will present their research results at the final stage of the competition, which will be held in Moscow at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University on April 20th, 2026.
