On September 28, the D.M. Dalmatov Infectious Clinical Hospital №1 hosted a Regional Scientific Conference «Current Issues in Infectious Diseases and Tuberculosis in the Omsk Region», organized by Omsk State Medical University, the Ministry of Public Health of the Omsk Region, the D.M. Dalmatov Infectious Clinical Hospital №1, the HIV and Infectious Diseases Center, the Regional Society of Infectious Disease Specialists, and the Omsk Branch of the Russian Phthisiologists Association. The Conference gathered over 100 participants, including doctors specializing in tuberculosis, infectious diseases, pediatrics, and general practice.
Prof. Anna V. MORDYK, MD, PhD, Head of the OSMU Department of Phthisiology, Pulmonology and Infectious Diseases, welcomed the participants, emphasizing the shift from remote formats back to in-person communication.
The first two reports provided insights into the Regional epidemic situations. Olga I. NAZAROVA, MD, PhD, Chief Doctor of the HIV and Infectious Diseases Center, discussed the challenges related to HIV infection in the Region. Andrey N. NAVROTSKIY, MD, PhD, Deputy Chief Doctor of D.M. Dalmatov Infectious Clinical Hospital №1, Chief External Specialist in Infectious Diseases of the Omsk Region, focused on the chronic viral hepatitis C.
Prof. Anna V. MORDYK presented two reports: on innovative treatment methods for complicated acute respiratory viral infections with antibiotic resistance control and on guidelines for acute respiratory viral infections.
Prof. Inna V. DRUK, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Family Medicine (Postgraduate Course), delivered a report on tuberculosis, diabetes, and early carbohydrate metabolism disorders.
Andrey O. GIRSH, MD, PhD, Prof. of the Department of General Surgery, presented a report on liquid and nutritional support in phthisiology and infectiology.
Klementina I. NESTEROVA, MD, PhD, Prof. of the Department of Otolaryngology, shared insights on preventing complications of acute respiratory viral infections in ENT organs through a pre-recorded presentation.
Elena V. NADEY, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. at the Department of Internal Medicine and Family Medicine (Postgraduate Course), lectured on parasitic infections and allergies.
Larisa V. PUZYREVA, MD, PhD, Acting Head of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, presented a lecture on skin and foot mycoses.
Elena V. USACHEVA, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. at the Department of Internal Medicine and Family Medicine (Postgraduate Course), discussed echinococcosis and alveococcosis as interdisciplinary issues.
Timely initiation of treatment is the key to successful patient management. Achievements in diagnosing and treating infectious diseases offer promising avenues toward health and longevity.
