On April 3-7, 2023, Preventive Dentistry Department of OSMU hosted the International Student Olympiad on Dentistry «Dentistry is our profession».
The Forum was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and the Department of Conservative Dentistry of Belarusian State Medical University. The co-organizers of the event were dentistry departments of Vitebsk State Medical University, Medical Academy named after S.I. Georgievsky (Simferopol), Omsk State Medical University, and Tashkent State Dental Institute.
The Olympiad was aimed at developing international cooperation between the dental faculties of medical universities, improving the ability to apply knowledge in the competitions and the use of clinical thinking, identifying the creative abilities of students, increasing interest in the future profession, and searching for gifted and talented students.
The Olympiad included theoretical and practical stages. Maria GRITSENKO, student of the Dentistry Faculty of OSMU, got the 1st place at the «Professional skills in restoration» Competition. OSMU team, which included Viktoria KAMINSKAYA, Kristina GAYDOMAK, Maria GRITSENKO, Sofia LAPENKO, Alina-Dolores SHENKNEKHT, and Anastasia KORFIDOVA, got the 1st place at the «Clinical Thinking» Competition
