Thanks to the cooperation of OSMU Department of Pediatric Dentistry and the Omsk Department of Education the first dental office is opened in Omsk Kindergarten №100.
At the opening ceremony OSMU has been represented by Prof. Assoc. Elena B. PAVLINOVA, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Assoc. Galina I. SKRIPKINA, Head of the Pediatric Dentistry Department, who highlighted the importance of dental diseases prevention in children explaining that primary prevention including a whole range of dental services will help to form a positive dental experience and eliminate stress during next dental interventions.
Children will be monthly examined by dental hygienists from the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. Apart from the preventive examination, dentists will inform the parents of the children about having dental problems in proper time, perform professional oral hygiene procedures using caries-preventive agents, and teach children to oral hygiene.
The Department of Pediatric Dentistry has experienced in the development and implementation of primary prevention measures for dental diseases in Omsk schools and kindergartens. Over 25 years the Department has been actively cooperating with Omsk Secondary School №28. And mutual collaboration with the Omsk Department of Education is one more real step to improve health of children and bring up a healthy generation.
