"First-hand Neurology"

 
On April 21, the Russian National Scientific Conference "First-hand Neurology " was held, which was organized and held with the support of the OSMU and the Association of Neurologists of the Omsk Region. The conference aimed to transfer advanced clinical experience and modern knowledge in neurology and related sciences to the professional community.
 
The First Vice-Rector of our university Ivan G. SHTEINBORM addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, he noted the great informational and educational significance of the upcoming conference and expressed confidence that its work will help to improve neurological care for patients, primarily at the outpatient stage.
 
The extensive topics of the conference made it possible to highlight, within the framework of reports, the main directions in the development of medical care for patients with neurodegenerative diseases, vascular, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases of the nervous system, cognitive and depressive-anxiety disorders. The reports that were made as part of the event were of interest not only to neurologists but also to doctors of other specialties. For example, Prof. Assoc. Grigoriy M. USOV, MD, PhD, head of the Psychiatry, Medical Psychology Department made an interesting report on the topic of sleep disorders in depression and the possibility of antidepressants in their correction.
 
Leading scientists and experts in the field of neurology from Moscow, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Omsk attended the Conference, which was held in a hybrid format. The conference received a great response from the interested audience and organizers of the event voiced the hope that the knowledge gained would be applied by doctors in practice.
