On April 29, Omsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital hosted the First International (third annual) Competition of Clinical Cases in Pediatrics "Bisyarina’s Readings". The competition was organized by the Department of Pediatrics (Advanced Level), including Postgraduate Training Courses (Head of the Department - Prof. Elena Bb. PAVLINOVA, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine)) with the support of the Scientific Society of Young Scientists and Students of OSMU. The competition attracted papers describing a patient's clinical observation or a complex differential diagnosis case.
This year, the competition reached an international level. Nineteen reports were presented across several scientific fields: pediatrics, pediatric surgery, and pediatric infectious diseases. All the clinical cases presented were noteworthy and extremely relevant in today's environment. The goal of the competition was not only to showcase the work but also to clinically analyze the existing challenges and engage in discussions about the case. Each year, the students' level of preparation and public speaking skills improve, their answers to questions become more confident, and they become well-versed in the topic.
