The First e-Olympiad on Digital Orthopedic Dentistry dedicated to the memory of Prof. Veniamin Yu. KURLYANDSKII was held on Avantis 3D platform on December 5, 2020.
The Olympiad was launched on the initiative of Prof. Andrei A. STAFEEV, Head of the Orthopedic Dentistry Department, OSMU, and Igor Yu. LEBEDENKO, Head of the Orthopedic Dentistry Department, RUDN, Moscow, under support of Russian Dental Association and Digital Dental Association.
The competition attracted participants from Kazakhstan, Belarus, and twenty-three Russian Universities. OSMU team has been actively trained for several months by Alexander V. KHIZHUK, Pavel O. PETROV, and Sergey I. SOLOVIEV, Assistant Professors of the Orthopedic Dentistry Department, under everlasting support and management of Prof. Andrei STAFEEV.
OSMU team, including Olga PILYAEVA, Viktor STARTSEV, and Eugeniy KHOROLSKII, 5th-year students of the Faculty of Dentistry, and the team of Perm State Medical University have become the absolute winners of the overall competition standings.
OSMU team has also won first place in the main category “Creating a Virtual 3D-Model of the Patient’s Dentoalveolar System using Avantis 3D Software”.
