I Congress of Anesthesiologists and Critical Care Doctors of Siberia

On December 3-5, I e-Congress of Anesthesiologists and Critical Care Doctors of Siberia was held at the initiative of OSMU. The concept of this event was to attract anesthesiologists and critical care doctors who are interested in improving their professional skills.

«The online format helped to bring together outstanding scientists from different cities of Russia: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Chita, Arkhangelsk, etc.» - said Professor Natalia V. GOVOROVA, MD, PhD, Head of the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (Postgraduate Course) Department, moderator of the Congress.

Yury P. ORLOV, MD, PhD, Professor of the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (Postgraduate Course) Department, moderator of the Congress mentioned the Federation of Anesthesiologists and Resuscitators of Russia, Association of Pediatric Anesthesiologists and Resuscitators, and Association of Obstetric Anesthesiologists and Resuscitators as three organizations which made this Congress especially useful.

During three days, the lecturers shared their theoretical knowledge and practical experience with the audience.

The first day included reports on the following topics: transportation of critically ill patients (by Prof. Natalia P. SHEN, MD, PhD, Tyumen), the evolution of management of sepsis and septic shock (by Prof. Vladimir A. RUDNOV, MD, PhD, Yekaterinburg), the use of modern inhaled anesthetics, surprising aspects of clinical physiology, features of conduction anesthesia in children, etc.

On the second day, the lecturers highlighted the issues of multiple organ failure in ICU patients (Prof. Evgeny V. GRIGORIEV, MD, PhD, Kemerovo), problems of modern antimicrobial therapy and ways of solution (Prof. Mikhail I. NEYMARK, MD, PhD, Barnaul), antimicrobial management of sepsis (Prof. Vladimir V. KULABUKHOV, Moscow), the experience of COVID-19 management (Prof. Denis N. PROTSENKO, MD, PhD, Moscow).

The third day of the Congress raised a range of interesting and diverse topics, which were developed in the reports: obstetric hemorrhage and modern concepts of treatment (by Prof. Alexander V. KULIKOV, MD, PhD, Ekaterinburg), clinical nutrition and metabolism (by Prof. Sergey S. SVIRIDOV, MD, PhD, Moscow), intensive care in traumatic brain injury (by Prof. Alexey V. SHCHEGOLEV, MD, PhD, St. Petersburg), acute heart failure in the perioperative period (by Prof. Andrey E. BAUTIN, MD, PhD, Moscow), and the evolution of CPR guidelines (by Prof. Artem N. KUZOVLEV, Moscow).

Three days of intensive work and active exchange of knowledge and experience have come to an end. Enthusiastic and grateful reviews and big amount of questions from the audience were clear evidence of the importance and relevance of the Congress.
