I Russian-Uzbek Youth Business-Forum
From December 7 to 10, 2020, in the framework of International Business Week, I Russian-Uzbek Youth Business-Forum was held in Ufa (Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia). The students of Omsk Universities, originally the citizens from Uzbekistan, have been invited to participate in the Forum.
Darya ERYOMINA, a Deputy Head of the International Affairs Department, and Madaminzhon MADAMINOV, a 2nd year resident, have been the representatives from OSMU.
International Business Week 2020 is a unique event, which was held in Ufa for the sixth time, aimed at uniting world-class experts and entrepreneurs for a search of the new directions for business development in the modern economic stage.
The agenda included plenary meetings and sessions, round-tables, workshops, and networking sessions. The event was held in a hybrid format: at the venues, speakers were assembled in small groups following safety measures, while other participants joined via conference call.
The first day was dedicated to International Business Week with a session Export of Education and Region Transformation: Infrastructural and Digital Solutions, Measures of Support and Promotion Abroad focusing on “Education” and “Export of Education” National Programs, aimed at developing international cooperation in science and education.
The session covered the topics in respect to the role of Universities as a national non-material resource for export of education, the strategies for making Russian education more attractive and competitive on the international educational market, the models and best practices for recruiting of foreign students to the Bashkortostan Universities.
There are approximately 10 000 non-resident students in Bashkiria, about 4 500 of these students are from Near and Far Abroad countries, most of them are study at the Petroleum and Medical Universities. Rectors of these Universities shared their experience in recruiting and teaching of international students. The Vice-President for Development of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and President of the Norman Bethune Health Science Center of Jilin University (China) have also shared their practices in this area. Students of Bashkir State Medical University and Ufa State Petroleum Technological University have told about their experience of studying in Russia focusing on the difficulties that they have to face. All participants have noted that the discussion has been very open and productive.
I Russian-Uzbek Youth Business-Forum was held on the second day under support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, Agency for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The event aimed at facilitating Russian and Uzbek entrepreneurs to establish bilateral business relations. The Forum was attended by the representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the largest business and youth communities. The sessions, workshops, and B2B meetings were held, and the issues of promising areas for cooperation between young entrepreneurs of Russia and Uzbekistan, foreign economic activity and support for young migrants were discussed.
At the end of the Forum, the organizers expressed their hope that the event would be held in both countries annually. The participants and experts have decided to form a task team in order to develop an algorithm for assistance and support to young migrants in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
