In the framework of the Youth Medical Forum, the III National Student Olympiad on Cardiology was held at Almazov National Medical Research Centre on May 12-15, 2021. It attracted students from all federal districts of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, Donetsk People's Republic, and the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the on-site stage of the Olympiad, the participants competed in solving interactive cases, applying practical skills, interpreting laboratory and instrumental diagnostic data, and providing emergency care.
For the first time in the history of this Olympiad, students from OSMU participated in the on-site stage and took 4th place. Our University was represented by the team called «Pericarditis», which included 5-year students of the Faculty of General Medicine: Alexey FEDORENKO, Alexandra SHUMKA, Edgar SIMONYAN, and Karlygash RAKHIMOVA.
OSMU Team expresses their deepest gratitude to Yulia P. SKIRDENKO and Anastasia V. NELIDOVA, Associate Professors of the Internal Medicine (Intermediate Level) and Gastroenterology Department, Anna S. SHEVCHENKO, functional diagnostics doctor from the Omsk Emergency Hospital №1, and also Polina I. OKHOTNIKOVA, Alexander V. GORBENKO, and Kirill A. ANDREEV, residents of the Internal Medicine (Intermediate Level) and Gastroenterology Department, for their help in preparing for the Olympiad.
