Improvement of Occupational Health System

February 2021 is marked by the launch of a data system #PODZASHCHITOI (meaning Protected) in the regions of Siberian Federal District. The project is aimed at optimizing occupational health system regarding volunteers, and educating members of student labor teams on the issues of labor safety.

The project attracts about 19 thousand Siberian volunteers aged 14 to 30 years, and includes activities on labor safety training, the formation of unified statistics, the assignment of people responsible for reporting data and providing control at all stages. A series of educational events are to be held: seminars, online consultations, as well as Health Coaching School aimed at informing students about fundamentals of occupational health, sanitary requirements and measures to prevent infectious diseases.

Occupational health in student labor teams has always received greater attention, but the year 2020 has shown that labor safety regarding infectious diseases needs serious refinement. The data system optimizes the communication between students and event organizers via a 24-hour call-center to timely address issues related to injuries and infectious diseases, including COVID-19.

Project #PODZASHCHITOI is supported by the Presidential Grant Foundation for the Development of Civil Society and operated by the Omsk Regional Division of the National Youth Society «Student Labor Teams».
