
On May 23-24, Omsk hosted the International Forum of Healthcare Specialists "Beauty of Omsk" dedicated to plastic surgery, bariatric surgery, cosmetology, medical tourism, and training programs in these areas.
The venue was the Regional Congress Hall, and the organizer was the Status re-age Aesthetic Medicine Clinic under the auspices of the Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region, the Ministry of Economy of the Omsk Region, the Russian Society of Bariatric Surgeons, and OSMU. The Forum brought in leading doctors and experts in the field of plastic surgery, bariatrics, and cosmetology from Russia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan, who participated in sessions, roundtable discussions, online broadcasts of surgeries and workshops in real time, where participants were able to share innovations and discuss current issues of practice with colleagues.
On the first day of the Forum, our university was represented by Vladimir E. KARASEV, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy, including Postgraduate Training Courses, Board Certified in Oncology, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, with a report "T-junction in breast reduction. Algorithm for achieving the optimal aesthetic result" in the “Plastic Surgery” section. In the "Cosmetology" section, Roman A. DELOV, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, including Postgraduate Training Courses, shared a neurological hack for a cosmetologist, and Elena V. RADUL, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology, talked about the combined use of hyaluronic acid-based fillers and biorevitalization agents in the correction of the lower third of the face. On the next day of the Forum, Elena V. RADUL introduced specialists to the algorithms of pre- and postoperative care in collaboration of cosmetologist and plastic surgeon. Her colleague at the Department, Elena Yu. ZUBAREVA, MD, PhD, focused the audience's attention on innovative cosmeceuticals in anti-age therapy and protocols for prolonging the effects of hardware and injection cosmetology.
The second day of the Forum was no less eventful for our specialists. In the "Bariatric Surgery" section Irina V. DRUK, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Internal and Family Medicine, including Postgraduate Training Courses, presented a report on the prospects in the treatment of obesity; Prof. Natalia V. GOVOROVA, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, including Postgraduate Training Courses, told about the severe cardiovascular complications in bariatric surgery; Assoc. Prof. Irina V. SAVELIEVA, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology №1, elaborate on the topic of the impact of obesity on women's health; and Natalia Yu. VLASENKO, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Pediatrics (Advanced Level), including Postgraduate Training Courses, get the audience acquainted with up-to-date information on approaches to obesity diagnosis and treatment in adolescents.
In the "Medical Tourism" section, Alexander V. TYUTYUNNIKOV, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics, spoke about the possibilities of modern specialized traumatological and orthopedic care in Clinical Medical Surgical Center; Artem E. KRIVOSHEIN, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the same department, told about vertebrology and an integrated approach to treatment; Anastasiya A. ZASTAVNAYA, MD, Asst. Prof. of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation, including Postgraduate Training Courses, made a report on the osteoporosis from the point of view of Rehabilitation physician; and Elena V. RADUL considered hyperandrogenic conditions in trichology.
The "Beauty of Omsk" Forum for two days brought together plastic surgeons, dermatovenerologists, cosmetologists, oncologists, specialists in related fields, and also foreign specialists and clearly demonstrated the dynamic development in this area in recent years due to the joint work of researchers and medical workers, which has improved the quality of life of many patients and reached new levels of international cooperation, information exchange, and effective use of technical, medical, and scientific resources.
