On March, 3rd and 4th, 2021, XXIX Online International Symposium «Innovative Technologies in Dentistry» is held at Omsk State Medical University supported by Omsk Dental Association, and Russian Dental Association.
Representatives from 8 countries, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Moldova, Belarus, and Norway are participating in the Symposium.
The Symposium was opened by the welcome speeches from Prof. Larissa M. LOMIASHVILI, Dean of the Dentistry Faculty, Alexander I. MATESHUK, President of the Omsk Dental Association, and Prof. Andrey V. PISKLAKOV, Vice-Rector for Research.
«I would like to express my deep gratitude to the participants of the Symposium, who have found a slot of time in the tough schedule to present their reports today. I would like to pay your attention that word ‘innovative’ sounds deliberately due to the fact that Scientific and Educational Center has been established in the Omsk Region where 4 out of 32 projects, which were submitted for consideration and approved, were OSMU projects, and two of them were the projects of the Pediatric Dentistry Department. Thus, innovations are your aims and targets and what you are achieving» – said Prof. Andrey V. PISKLAKOV.
After the welcome speeches, the Symposium participants honored the memory of colleagues and teachers who passed away last year with a minute of silence. Then Prof. Larissa M. LOMIASHVILI has mentioned some significant events in life of the Dentistry Faculty over the past few years.
The reports dedicated to diagnosis and treatment of dental caries, antimicrobial photodynamic therapy, vitamin D and dental caries in children, new trends in prosthetic dentistry, surgical treatments for oral cancer, etc. are presented during the working days of the Symposium.
