On September 30, International Symposium «Basic Clinical Aspects of Dental Prosthetic Rehabilitation» took place in Omsk State Medical University timed to coincide with the launch of the National guidelines for prosthetic dentistry and the 65th anniversary of the OSMU Faculty of Dentistry. The event was organized by Russian Dental Association and its Orthopedic Division, and OSMU.
- On behalf of the Rector's Office, the Academic Council of the University, and a team of thousands of people, I am pleased to welcome you to our Symposium. I wish your new knowledge to find its use in clinical practice! – said Prof. A.I. NOVIKOV, President of OSMU.

The event was attended by representatives of dental schools of Belarus, Kazakhstan and different Russian Regions. The Symposium was held in the format of mini-lectures and included 18 scientific reports from outstanding dentists from Russia and abroad.
Prof. I.Yu. LEBEDENKO, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Honored Scientist of Russia, Head of Central Research Institute of Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery, has opened the scientific part of the Symposium with a lecture «Zirconium Dioxide Ceramic Dentures. Achievements and Prospects of Import Substitution».
Prof. A.A. STAFEEV, MD, PhD, Head of the OSMU Department of Orthopedic Dentistry, has presented his research on dental preparation and its possible complications with the focus on the marginal periodontium examination.
Prof. A.N. RYAKHOVSKII, MD, PhD, Head of the Orthopedic Division of Russian Dental Association, has taught participants about differences between virtual treatment planning and traditional approaches, and proposed the main goals and objectives of such planning.
Speakers touched on the topics of interdisciplinary treatment of patients with benign lower jaw tumors, raised questions on digital patient counseling, discussed the problems of orthopedic care in forensic medical examinations. Each topic was interesting, relevant and significant! The best specialists in orthopedic dentistry from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Stavropol, Perm, Kazan, Belgorod, Omsk shared their unique clinical cases and presented research achievements.
International Symposium «Basic Clinical Aspects of Dental Prosthetic Rehabilitation» became a landmark for both Faculty of Dentistry and Omsk State Medical University, gave the participants the opportunity to share knowledge and opened a new perspective on clinical practice.
