The Interregional Scientific Conference «Burning issues of internal diseases» was dedicated to the centenary of the Department of Internal Medicine (Advanced Level) and Endocrinology of OSMU - one of the senior departments of internal diseases of the Siberian Federal District, which is known by both the formation and development of national school of internal diseases and also the scientific development of current issues in clinical hematology, rheumatology and cardiology. The conference brought together the best internists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Yaroslavl, Tomsk, and Omsk who presented up-to-date information on cardiology, pulmonology, endocrinology, hematology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, and nephrology.
On the first day of work, during the plenary session, specialists and veterans of our university were awarded by the Russian Scientific Medical Society of Internal Medicine and the Omsk Regional Clinical Hospital.
The Conference started with the welcoming speech by Prof. Natalia A. MOROVA, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine (Advanced Level) and Endocrinology, who told about the 100-year history of the department and then made a report on modern approaches to the treatment of chronic heart failure. The other reports covered the current healthcare issues such as «Treatment in pulmonology - traditions and innovations», «Innovations in the treatment of internal diseases» and «Inflammation in cardiology - through the pages of new guidelines».
On the second day of the Conference, specialists split up to take part in three sections: «Current issues in rheumatology», «Issues in pediatric rheumatology, orphan diseases» and «Comorbid conditions in the internal medicine». Interesting reports, piercing questions, and heated discussions by specialists from various fields of internal diseases determined the success of the Conference. In addition, within its framework, the exhibition of modern drugs and medical equipment was held, which aroused great interest among the participants.
