On May 18, 2023, OSMU hosted the Interregional Scientific Conference «Rare Neurology», organized with support of OSMU and Omsk Regional Association of Neurologists. The conference was aimed at transferring advanced clinical experience and modern knowledge in neurology to the professional community.
The welcome speech was delivered by Ivan G. SHTEINBORM, First Vice-Rector of OSMU, who mentioned the great informational and educational value of the Conference and expressed confidence that it will contribute to the improvement of neurological care for patients. Opening the Conference, Roman A. DELOV, MD, PhD, Prof. Assoc. of the Neurology and Neurosurgery (Postgraduate Course) Department of OSMU, Chairperson of the Omsk Regional Association of Neurologists, noted that the subject of the Conference was targeted at obtaining the state-of-art information on modern possibilities for diagnosing and treating patients with rare neurological diseases.
The scientific program of the Conference included the issues of genetic aspects of orphan diseases, possibilities and prospects for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with orphan diseases, analysis of clinical cases, master classes. The lively discussion during the Conference allowed the participants to exchange experiences.
The Interregional Conference was held in a mixed format and brought together neurologists from many regions of Russia. Leading experts in the field of orphan diseases from Omsk, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Syktyvkar, and Voronezh delivered their reports both in person and online.
Thanks to the comprehensive coverage of the problems of «rare neurology» of all speakers, the conference attendants got acquainted with interesting, relevant, interactive reports and took an active part in the event.
