The Interuniversity Olympiad in Medical Microbiology with international participation was held at Omsk Clinical Dental Clinic №1. The Olympiad was held in mixed format: in person for Omsk students, and online for students of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy in Bishkek.
The first stage of the competition included a video contest, which was prepared in advance. The following stages - "Blitz", "Puzzles" and "Situational task" - demonstrated students’ knowledge in microbiology, virology and immunology and their practical significance and application in medicine. The jury of the Olympiad consisted of the representatives of the Microbiology, Virology and Immunology Department and Department of Preventive Dentistry.
Jury prepared individual and group tasks in order to increase the level of theoretical and practical training of students in microbiology, as well as to assess the competence of students in the field of theoretical knowledge and independent work skills, but most importantly – to identify the ability to apply the acquired knowledge in clinical situations.
