On April 15, IX National Online Scientific Conference Burning Issues in Internal Medicine. Connective Tissue Dysplasia associated with OSMU Centenary was held. The event was organized by OSMU, the Russian Foundation «Cardioprogress», and the Russian Scientific Medical Society of Internal Medicine. The Conference attracted the specialists from Russia (Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ufa, Surgut, Barnaul, Kazan, and Stavropol), Donetsk People’s Republic (Donetsk), and Belarus (Minsk).
Professor Galina I. NECHAEVA, the Department of Internal and Family Medicine, opened the Conference with a welcome speech followed by the report «The cardiovascular disease continuum and our capabilities» dedicated to the therapeutic management of patients at different stages of this condition and the issues of secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
Prof. Olga Yu. KORENNOVA, and Prof. Assoc. Inna V. DRUK, in their talks stressed to the modern approaches to dyslipidemia treatment and vitamin deficiency, including vitamin D deficiency.
Within a session «Chronic non-communicable diseases in the modern world» Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, Rector of OSMU, covered the issues of core competencies of a general practitioner needed for implementing chronic NCDs prevention strategies.
Prof. Mehman N. MAMEDOV, President of the Cardioprogress Foundation, Head of the Secondary Prevention Department of the State Research Center for Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, and Prof. Anatoly I. MARTYNOV, Academician of RAS, Prof. of the Department of Surgery, MSUMD, presented their reports on comorbidity in clinical practice and features of new practice guidelines for the management of arterial hypertension.
Overall, in nine sessions, over hundred reports were presented by the specialists in different fields of medicine.
