Leading Specialists in Gastroenterology Shared Their Findings with Colleagues

 
On November 24, leading specialists and gastroenterologists shared their finding with colleagues at the Interregional Scientific Conference «Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD): from scientific achievements to guidelines and real clinical practice» organized by OSMU and National IBD Society. Most commonly, such diseases affect people of working age and are often accompanied by the development of severe complications, which significantly reduce the quality of life and require constant monitoring by gastroenterologists and medical treatment. Therefore, in the framework of the Conference, leading Russian and Omsk specialists presented their report on the topical issues of IBD diagnosis and treatment in terms of modern guidelines.
 
The lectures were given by Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, MD, PhD, Rector of OSMU, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Prof. Elena A. BELOUSOVA, MD, PhD, Head of the Gastroenterology Clinic of Moscow Regional Clinical Research Institute named after M.F. Vladimirsky (MONIKI), President of the National IBD Society, Chief Gastroenterologist of the Moscow Region; Prof. Marina F. OSIPENKO, MD, PhD, Head of the Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases Department of  Novosibirsk State Medical University; Prof. Alexey V. KONONOV, MD, PhD, Head of the Morbid Anatomy Department of OSMU Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation; and other specialists of Omsk and Moscow medical universities. These lectures became an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and practical experience on the issues of the management of patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease considering the dynamically developing ideas about the pathogenesis of the disease and targeted therapy.
 
Social value of the stated topic was especially important for gastroeterologists, coloproctologists, dietitians, general practitioners, endoscopists, morphologists – specialists, are supposed to provide adequate diagnosis and treatment to patients with IBD.
