Today, there are more than 450 Medical Volunteers, students of OSMU and University College help regional healthcare in the Omsk Hospitals and Outpatient Clinics. The number of Medical Volunteers increases every day, and now they are working in 32 hospitals, including remote ones. Students measure temperature in patients, remind them about ordinary safety measures, perform patient routing, assist at the reception desk, first aid rooms, and help doctors during the patients’ appointments under the supervision of the coordinators. Moreover, since next week, volunteers will start working in the municipal structures of the Omsk Region.
It is important to provide timely assistance to the regional healthcare system, and OSMU students are glad to be involved in it at this difficult time.
Besides the hospitals, more than 80 Medical Volunteers work in the Rospotrebnadzor, the Ministry of Health of the Omsk Region, the regional hotline, and the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology. They provide advisory support, conduct statistical data processing, and prepare decrees.
