Medical Volunteers Help Regional Healthcare

Medical Volunteers proceed their help to regional healthcare.
National Campaign «MYVMESTE» (meaning «We are together») is providing help and support to the medical organizations, where over 520 volunteers are working: measuring temperature, performing intra-hospital routing of patients, assisting at the reception desks and helping doctors during the patients’ appointments.

Medical Volunteers are involved into daily routine of the hospitals not only in the city of Omsk, but also in Omsk Region. Being the active participants of the process the students acquire additional competencies and gain new knowledge in clinical work. Despite a hard schedule, all volunteers keep on studying.

Replying on a question “Why did I decide to be a volunteer?” the answer is quite simple “People, the patients, and the doctors need my help. I feel myself like a small brick in a big building supporting such huge system being in the right place at the right time. Leaving the hospital, I understand that my day was not a waste of time, and when I hear the words of gratitude from the patients and doctors for my work, I realize I am really in demand and I will be back here again!", – says Viktor SHIDLOVSKY, a 6-year student of the Faculty of General Medicine.

Medical Volunteers are working in different hospitals, medical centers and healthcare institutions: Omsk COVID-19 hotline (about 60 volunteers), Rospotrebnadzor (23 volunteers), the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology (8 volunteers), the Ministry of Public Health of Omsk Region (5 volunteers).
