On September 29, the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine hosted a meeting of the Standing Council of the Association of Sino-Russian Medical Universities (ASRMU) – a key platform uniting leading medical universities from both countries.
The agenda covered the Association’s achievements, promising new areas of activity, and objectives for the further development of cooperation with Chinese universities. The meeting took place at a significant time: the years 2026–2027 have been designated as the Years of Russian-Chinese Cooperation in Education, lending the gathering strategic importance.
At the meeting and the subsequent scientific conference, OSMU was represented by its Rector, Professor MARIA A. LIVZAN, MD, Dr Scie (in Medicine), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. OSMU has been a member of ASRMU since 2015 Over the past eleven years, numerous joint scientific and educational events have been held, involving faculty and students from our university as well as colleagues from institutions in China.
ASRMU was established 12 years ago on the initiative of First Moscow State Medical University (Sechenov University) and Harbin Medical University. Today, the Association stands as a successful example of strategic cooperation between Russia and China in the fields of medical education and research. Its key achievements include the annual implementation of major joint research projects, the hosting of scientific conferences and seminars, and the development and delivery of joint educational programs—including dual-degree programs at both the master’s and postgraduate levels.
