
Maria A. LIVZAN, MD, Dr, Sci. (in Medicine), OSMU Rector, guided the Minister through a tour of the University. The visit began with an exhibition showcasing the University's innovative developments. Afterwards, Mikhail A. MURASHKO met with representatives of the Student Council and the Interethnic Friendship Club «Bridge of Cultures». The OSMU student team «Siberian Help» held a masterclass in emergency medical care, while members of the National Public Movement «Medical Volunteers» presented several of their projects, including «Health Headquarters», «School for Young and Future Parents», and «Victory Healers».
The Minister also reviewed the work of the OSMU Admissions Committee, which has already received over 10,000 applications from prospective students to specialty, master’s, residency, and vocational education programs. The Faculty of General Medicine remains the most popular among applicants, while the Faculty of Dentistry continues to demonstrate the highest competition. Applications for postgraduate programs have now closed. The new Master's program in Psychology has also attracted great interest from applicants.
The visit concluded with a discussion on current challenges in the training of medical professionals and strategic planning for the University’s future development.
At present, OSMU trains 7,168 students. The number of international students enrolled in specialist programs at OSMU has reached 715, representing ten countries from both near and far abroad.
OSMU Press Center
