On December 5 and 6, a scientific conference "Modern Dentistry - A Focus On An Interdisciplinary Approach" was held, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Institute of Dentistry (Faculty of Dentistry) of Tyumen State Medical University. The student Olympiad "Restorative Dentistry" was held as part of the Conference.
The staff of the OSMU Department of Preventive Dentistry including Prof. Larissa M. LOMIASHVILI, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Head of the Department, and Irina V. ANISIMOVA, DMD, PhD (in Medicine), Prof. Asst. of the Department, conveyed a congratulatory address from Prof. Maria A. LIVZAN, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), OSMU Rector, Corresponding Member of RAS, to Ivan M. PETROV, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), Rector of Tyumen State Medical University. They also participated in the Conference with reports on topical issues of modern dentistry, and assessed the level of student work during the Olympiad.
Currently, the Institute of Dentistry is headed by Assoc. Prof. Marina O. NAGAEVA, DMD, PhD (in Medicine), a student of Professor Vladimir B. NEDOSEKO.
It is pleasant to note that Denis KHIZHUK, a 4th-year student of the OSMU Faculty of Dentistry, worthily participated in the competition in the field of orthopedic and therapeutic dentistry. According to the results of voting, Denis KHIZHUK was awarded the diploma of the winner of the interregional Olympiad. His competitors, students from Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen and Omsk, demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skills in the field of digital dentistry.
