On May 30, Makhachkala hosted the International Scientific Conference "Modern Methods of Diagnostics and Treatment of Patients with Salivary Gland Diseases" dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Dagestan State Medical University (DSMU) and the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. The school of Omsk dentists was represented by Irina M.VOLOSHINA, DMD, PhD, Professor of the OSMU Department of Preventive Dentistry, and Kristina GAYDOMAK, resident of the OSMU Department of Maxillofacial Surgery.
The Conference was organized and held at the DSMU and the Russian University of Medicine on the initiative and to a large extent thanks to the Professor Vasily V. AFANASYEV, DMD, PhD, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, President of the Association of Sialologists of Russia (Russian Dentistry Association), Head of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology of the Russian University of Medicine, and Professor Alexander V. SHCHIPSKY, DMD, PhD, Executive Secretary of the Association of Sialologists of Russia (StAR), Professor of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology of Russian University of Medicine.
The Conference covered a wide range of problems from the epidemiology and diagnostics of salivary gland diseases to modern methods of treatment, rehabilitation and correction of their function. At the end of the program, a lengthy discussion took place with a discussion of the problems, issues and prospects of sialology.
