On August 28, in the framework of the National Action «Tour Flashmob», educational tours were held in the OSMU Main Building and at the Department of Forensic Medicine and Law.
During the tour, given by Anton V. LAPUTSENKO, History Museum Director, the participants learned the history of OSMU from its founding to the present time. Guests saw rare photographs from the University's archive, medical instruments belonging to outstanding doctors and scientists, learned about the medical dynasties that made our University famous far beyond the Omsk Region.
Participants of all ages strolled through the most iconic areas of the OSMU Main Building. The interior aroused their genuine interest because what the University staff and students are used to - for ordinary visitors is a wonder. Guests visited classrooms and took photos in the grand stone staircase with cast-iron railings and floral ornamentation to capture the memories of this day.
Visitors admitted that they enjoyed the flashmob, learned many curious facts about the OSMU history, and visited places they had previously only seen in pictures and on TV.
The tour continued at the OSMU Department of Forensic Medicine and Law. Educational aids, including posters and models of various pathologies, caught the attention of all participants. «We focused on the effects of toxic substances on a human body. We also showed the specifics of injuries caused by gunshot, car accidents, falls from heights. The presented models evoked a deep emotional response from the guests. Perhaps this tour will inspire young guests to tie their professional life with our University» - said Prof. Assoc. Sergei N. MOSKOVSKII, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Law.
Tour flashmobs have been held in Omsk since 2017; they are timed to coincide with World Tourism Day, which is celebrated on September 27.
