National «Bring Kindness to the Villages» Campaign Continues

Medical Volunteers continue to participate in the National «Bring Kindness to the Villages» Campaign, which is aimed at improving the condition of first-aid stations and the quality of medical care in the villages, and also at making disease prevention knowledge more available.
On September 20, Medical Volunteers, together with the doctors from the Omsk Hospitals, went to Nadezhdino Village. While the specialists were receiving patients, Medical Volunteers performed health counseling about the most common and significant diseases like cardiovascular diseases, cancer, ARVI, and COVID-19 infection. They also told about diabetes risk factors, ways to quit smoking, and mentioned the importance of a timely medical checkup.

Other activities took place in the local school. During the traditional health lessons, Medical Volunteers taught schoolchildren the first aid management for bleedings, burn injuries, and frostbites. They also conducted master classes on bandaging. Students of the Dentistry Faculty explained the importance of oral hygiene for preserving oral health and demonstrated the proper brushing technique to the schoolchildren. Moreover, OSMU students performed career guidance counseling and answered all the questions about the education process in the medical university.

For many years, the «Bring Kindness to the Villages» Campaign has been in great demand by rural residents and is no less important for the professional development of our students. On October 14, our Volunteers will go to the Lugovoe Village, where they will continue their activities.
