At the end of June, the traditional competition "Interesting Clinical Cases from Young Pediatric Dentists" held by the OSMU Department of Pediatric Dentistry concluded. This nationwide online competition serves as the culmination of the educational process for the Department's residents. This academic year, 17 residents from various cities of Russia (Omsk, Barnaul, Tyumen, and Khanty-Mansiysk) studied at the Department and participated in the competition, which allowed them to showcase their successes and achievements in the pediatric dentistry. The competition provided the participants an opportunity to exchange opinions, broaden their professional horizons, and gain positive energy for their future careers. All the works were evaluated by a panel of experts, including deans and scientists from medical universities across the country.
The first place was given to Polina D. MOSKOTINA, a second-year resident of the OSMU Department of Pediatric Dentistry and general dental practitioner at Omsk Clinical Dental Outpatient Clinic №2 (Omsk). Her clinical paper focused on the treatment of acute dental trauma in children.
Second place went to Veronika V. IVANOVA, a second-year resident and general dental practitioner (Barnaul). Her compelling clinical paper demonstrated interdisciplinary collaboration at all stages of a child's dental treatment under general anesthesia.
Third place went to Asya A. ZORINA, a first-year resident and general dental practitioner (Tyumen). The contestant presented an interesting clinical case to the jury, demonstrating a rare dental pathology – pre-eruptive intracoronal resorption.
